There are many perspectives a city can be experienced from, but the student's, i.e. the perspective of an educated, optimistic, energetic; free and curious minds would be a very good place to start, if you are after a really integral and inviting guide, wouldn't it?!
So thought the Huffington Post anyway, and therefore published a list of the top ten most interesting and beautiful cities, according to students who travel and explore our world. Sarajevo made that list, and if you want to see for yourself the how's and why's, please, feel welcome to ask for our assistance.
Our city is unique in so many respects; from it's geografical position that made it not only the perfect but the only choice for so many historical events to take place (the Ottoman's rule, Gavrilo Princip - who committed murder out of principals, the Jews' immigration, the Olympic Games...), to the expressions of art, religion and daily life so specific that they are also unique in the world.
To the devastation and pain it has endured as the inevitable other side of the medal, when a city is as special and magical as Sarajevo. Come, ask, we'll tell you all about it over coffee - there is always an extra cup waiting in Bosnia, for the wandering friend! Bujrum! (by Ivana)
Very nice hostel! - The owner, Unkas, is very helpfull and a really fun guy. He sells beers for a fair price and the backyard is a great place to drink you beer! It's a very social hostel, so it's really easy to meet new people to explore Sarajevo with.platypus27, www.tripadvisor.com
Best hostel ever been to! - The owner, Unkas, gave us a warm welcome even though we arrived five hours later than expected. His hospitality during the stay is the best I have ever experienced. Listen to Unkas and follow his recommendations, you will not regret it. Excellent location near the city center, bedrooms were good, and there was an inside and an outside place to relax. Basically, everything was great. Stayed July 2015, traveled with friendsMartin E, www.tripadvisor.com
Cozy-Pleasant-Fun-Great Atmosphere - The workers and the owner are great hosts, I had a really nice time! The benefit is definitely that it's in the centre of the city and everything is close to you. Some kind of a mix between the tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo and the modern life! Stayed March 2015, traveled soloHanan N, www.tripadvisor.com
Amazing stay ! - Unkas was amazing! We were the only ones in the hostel at the time, but he made us feel very welcome. He gave us welcome drinks and a map to show us all of the local places in Sarajevo, and we enjoyed every recommendation of his. The room was very nice, he upgraded us to a bed instead of two twin beds. We accidentally booked for the wrong day, and he accepted us anyway without a problem. We loved our stay here!Jessica Capó, www.hostelworld.com
Loved this hostel. - Loved this hostel. Probably my favourite of our trip. The owner and the staff are all excellent. They really took the time to talk and get to know you. The tour of the city was great and very handy as we didn't have a car. This meant we saw things we probably wouldn't have seen easily otherwise. Communal areas were great and the beds comfy. This probably won't be the last time in my life I will stay here :) Thanks guys for a great experience.Paul Paterson;, www.hostelworld.com
